TWO MILAM MEN Board Hires Teachers CHARGED WITH TDALE SHOOTING
Two Milam County men ages 19 and 21 fired from a 22 gauge rifle into the Thorndale School during an evening class and into the Thorndale Firemans Hall. One student injured by flying glass. bullet lodged in a blackboard. Both men were arrested about 8:30 p.m. and charged with firing into a public building. Gerald Rosenthal 21 of Thorndale and Johnny Stifflemire 19 of Houston were jailed or released on bond.

Cameron School Board approved two new teachers for 1967 68 and set a bid call for Yee High School clean up. Isaias Almazan Jr. will teach science and Patricia Titsworth will coach girls PE. A library overhaul including shelving and new furniture is planned with about 11 000 spent on books this year.

Thieves Ransack Three Homes in Thorndale Area
Sheriff Carl Black reported daylight break ins at Hope Camp Edward Patschke and Henry Barber residences in the Thorndale San Gabriel area last week. A total of eight guns rifles clothing jewelry and silver were stolen while owners were away.

Ray Griffin a 33 year old native of Rosebud and patrolman in Marlin has been named Cameron Police Chief. He will assume duties June 1 after previous work with Falls County Sheriff’s office Pasadena police and most recently Marlin patrolman. E L Michelson resigned May 11 as night patrolman to return to New Braunfels.

Mrs. Maudie Braden Dies at 64 Services Held Here
Mrs. Maudie Williams Braden, 64, died in a Houston hospital after an illness of several weeks. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Green's Funeral Home with burial in Liberty Community Cemetery. She left Milam County long-time, survived by daughter Doris Water of Houston, sons Phillip Braden of Houston Carlton Braden in the U.S. Air Force San Angelo and Billy Ray Braden of Cameron, and brothers Cecil Williams Cameron Hubert Williams Austin Chess Williams Jacksboro.
