Texas proposes to amend Article 16 to add Section 59 declaring natural resources public rights and duties and creating conservation districts. It outlines district powers, indebtedness via bonds, tax levies, and election procedures for August 21, 1917, with governor proclamation and a $5000 funding allocation.
The Sigma Phi and Kilkare clubs held a Saturday call meeting hosted by Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Henderson. They plan a June first home talent play under Mrs. F. M. Tucker's management, followed by a social with refreshments of chicken sandwiches hot tea chocolate and cake.
Miss Annie May Walden of Minerva and Mr. Curtis Johnson of Cameron were married Sunday night at 9 30 in the residence of Mrs. B B Blaylock. The ceremony was by Rev. Blaylock with only family present. They will reside in Minerva where the bride will teach next year and the groom will continue his Cameron business.
