Sergeant Bob Davis of Bell County Texas writes from Lankerton Hospital England about the April 9 Vimy Ridge attack by Canadian troops. He recalls a three mile front assault that allegedly killed 4000 Germans and captured 4000 prisoners with 10 machine guns, calling the firing line that awful slaughter house.
