A Democratic primary slate lists district and county officers including Rufus Hardy and E A Decherd for congressman and various county posts such as Tax Assessor Newton McDonald and Sheriff R R Tyson. Citizens attend commemorations and Red Cross events as part of community notices and social updates.
At a Cameron Public Schools board meeting last Saturday afternoon Prof L H Kidd of Devine Medina county was elected Superintendent to succeed Prof J F Watts who resigned to lead Taylor Public Schools. Kidd comes with several years high school experience and accepted the post for the coming fall session.
Messrs. R. R. and Van Tyson of Maysfield were here on business this week. Clyde Franklin and Dougald McCall made an overland trip to Waco Tuesday. Mr. Phillipps of Rockdale came to Cameron Monday and returned overland. Mrs. Georgia Slaughter is down from Ben Arnold. Elliott Atkinson, Cecil Barmore, Homan Barge, L. J. Eperson and Knox Tyson motored to Maysfield Tuesday afternoon.
W G Erck proprietor of the Little River Garage states he is giving away bonnets to ladies to encourage them to work in their war gardens. The writer notes the gesture appears to originate at Erck's own home and questions the motive.

Bank officials Geo T Graves of Cameron State Bank with Mrs Graves and Oxsheer Smith of Citizens National Bank with Mrs Smith traveled to Galveston for the Texas Bankers Association three day session opening Monday. The party plans to sightsee afterwards at the Island City.
