IRS approves retirement agreement forms for IRAs
IRS district director Robert M. McKeever explains that legislation lets employees not covered by a pension or plan contribute to an individual retirement savings program. They can deduct up to 1500 dollars a year or 15 percent of compensation, whichever is less, and place funds in savings, mutual funds, or U S Individual Retirement Bonds. Forms 5305 or 5305A are requested to set up a trust or custodial account and taken to a financial institution to establish the account while deposits remain until age 59 1/2, when withdrawals may begin without penalties and become taxable but likely in a lower tax bracket.
