City Dweller Urged to Use Pesticides Wisely in Texas Study
Texas Department of Agriculture reports city residents contribute to pesticide pollution in streams and rivers through overuse and wash-off. The study, by Brooke Tidswell III and W E McCasland, analyzed 433 samples across eight major rivers from 1970 to 1972, finding residues in over half the samples and higher levels in agricultural basins while noting no widespread DDT use after 1972. The report urges cautious use and provides guidance and publication details.
