New gusher erupts at Taylor oil field drawing crowds
The Sconyers-Wilson Abbott No 1 well in Taylor Field struck a highpressure oil gush at 5 am after belching mud since yesterday afternoon. Reports say up to 1000 barrels a day, with storage tanks under construction and lines laid. Locals from Williamson County and nearby towns gathered to watch as oil and gas escaped, while the drill stem remained in place and mud was diverted to a second pit.
