Boy Scout Training School Opens Here

The Heart O Texas Council opened its Boy Scout Training School at Ada Henderson school on March 5 with Charlie Meyer leading the session. Sessions continue March 12 19 26 at 7 30 pm and Sundays March 30 April 6 with attendees urged to include Scout Masters troop committees captains and all interested in scouting. In Cameron a court of honor at Yee High school awarded tenderfoot first second and third class ranks and merit badges to seven candidates.

M. C. Fox Buys Milam County Battery

M. C. Fox has purchased the Milam County Battery Company from D. D. K. Hall and now runs the business. Hall had bought it from Fox but could not devote full time. Fox remains the first Texas dealer under a Dayton Tire contract with direct factory connections lowering prices by removing jobbers.

Trents to Lead Dallas Orchestra at Skeezix Dance

The famous eleven piece Negro orchestra from Dallas, Trents, makes its first Cameron visit for a big Friday night dance at Skeezix on March 7. Park patrons will hear the musicians perform.

Business Women to Present Play Aunt Lucia in City

The Business and Professional Women’s Club completed plans for presenting the home talent play Aunt Lucia at its regular monthly meeting. Miss Alice Kennedy of Garnet Kansas representing Universal Production Company Fairfield Iowa will direct and conduct rehearsals. Miss Ann Stallworth led the meeting in president Gladys Watson’s absence as refreshments were served and a short musical program followed with Miss Vetris Kirk and Miss Gladys Jewel Copus performing.

Loving Cup Awarded to Lampasas Patrolman Creekmore

Patro lman P H Creekmore of Lampasas received the loving cup at the Texas Power and Light Co transmission section annual meeting in Dallas for the highest neatness and efficiency score among 37 patrolmen. Hefley twins share a playful family coincidence in Texas

Gene Smith Buys Bluebonnet Cafe in Jameson

Gene Smith, proprietor of the New port Cafe and Jameson City Marshal-elect, bought the Bluebonnet Cafe from D. Fikes. The deal closed Thursday as the cafe, damaged by fire, is restored and planned to reopen later this month. Smith will close the Newport cafe and move his interests to the new location.
