Kemp Seeks Re election as Milam County Judge
Judge Jeff T. Kemp of Milam County seeks re election to the county judge's office for another term in the Democratic Primary on July 23 1932. He has long served as county judge and previously as county clerk and points to a fiscally prudent administration keeping expenses within bounds while meeting all obligations. He is known across the county and state for civic involvement including pensions for Confederate veterans and widows and pledges faithful and efficient service if re elected.

Martin Porter Dies at Home Near Goree Texas
The death of Martin Porter occurred Wednesday February 24 at his Goree Texas home. Porter was reared in Cameron, son of the late R S and Mrs Porter, married to Carrie Hefley, with two children from his first marriage. He was a traveling salesman, recently ill, living on his Goree farm at passing. He is survived by his wife, two children, a brother Buford Porter in the East, and Cameron relatives. Burial was in a cemetery near Goree.

At the Lions Club noon program Supt T A Fisher chaired with Miss Jolly Blanche Pitts assisting. Eight Yoe high boys performed a dream play for the Bi Centenary birthday of George Washington. Basil Case a 22 year old Chicago checker expert wowed Milam County at the courthouse Tuesday night. He played 30 players at once non blindfolded and drew five games led by Basil Thompson of Sharpe among others. In a five at once blindfolded session Case lost once to Basil Thompson and defeated three others. Basil Thompson of Sharpe won all honors with Case, while a Milam County organization plans future events inviting all players.
