Sheriff Leonard Blaylock ends a seven month manhunt in Rockdale. Three Temple men Hubert Roberson Mangus and Gus Walker face burglary and assault with intent to murder charges from the July 18 1931 Scarbrough Hicks store raid. Roberson Arrested in Taylor and the Walker brothers in Temple. Night watchman Charlie Landers was shot through the hat during the failed robbery.
Cameron singer Price Ursus will perform a thirty minute song program on WFAA in Dallas Sunday night starting at 8:00. The broadcast is announced as part of a local entertainment slate.
Milady Dusek was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kaninecky at Buckholts, staying for a social visit and meeting local residents.
Milam County farmers can apply for Federal Crop loans up to 400 dollars per farmer and 1600 for tenants. A central three member committee will review loans at 5.5 percent interest with notes due November 30, 1932.
Emma D. Whitman died Monday in Waco at age 72 and funeral services were held Tuesday at her daughter Mrs Davis Godley’s home. Dr J B Tidwell Rev A J Holt and Dr J M Dawson officiated with interment in Oakwood. Her family included daughters Mrs Davis Gurley and Mrs Jen Whitman Fraser and son Charles Whitman a Columbia student.
A Methodist church hosts a mock trial staged by the Anti-Saloon League to fund and promote Prohibition. Nathan R. Johnson leads the program, enlisting local citizens for the jury and simulating an Iowa courtroom to illustrate the liquor ban impact. More than 20 locals participated in the dramatic court scene.
Freeman argues the family home is the foundation of government and warns that rising interest and tax burdens threaten farms and homes nationwide. He claims one fourth of homes are delinquent and taxes due within two years could force home losses.

Supporters view him as the logical successor to retiring Hon. Jack Lewis.
Bond totaling 330000 furnished and accepted by the Commissioners Court. The First National Bank of Cameron and Citizens National Bank of Cameron serve as depositories for county and state funds. Citizens Bank holds two thirds of the funds and bonds for 220000. First National holds one third and bonds for 110000. Minutes show the banks meeting where the deposit arrangement was formalized.
Basil Case a 22 year old checker expert from Chicago will visit Cameron for an exhibition on Tuesday night March 1 starting at 7 30. He plans to play many experts at once and then five players blindfolded. The event is sponsored by Penn Wolf Dr John Denson FP E Jackson and E O Schiller with public invitation.
