Bloodmobile Visit Planned for Cameron July First
The Red Cross bloodmobile will be in Cameron on Friday July 1 from noon to 6 p m at the Fellowship Hall of the Methodist church. A 75 pint quota is set with Richard W Moseley as local chairman. Mrs F E Jackson will lead volunteers and Dr Clifford Swift will supervise doctors on duty during donations.

Collisions on US 77 Injure Six Monday
Two separate crashes on US 77 left six injured, one seriously, as state trooper reports. A 1958 Pontiac driven by Paul Lewis Shegull rolled over after colliding with a 1958 Chevrolet driven by Dallas C. Richards in Minerva, injuring Don Edmonds and Stanley Fikes. several others escaped injury. A wrecker collision near Rockdale left Douglas Baxter Rockdale injured and arm severed, with three vehicles total losses.

The Cameron drive for Newton Memorial Hospital reports $41,046.50 raised. a July 6 bid date is set and $8,953.50 remains to meet the $50,000 local goal. Officials anticipate federal grants of 150000 to 200000 and 60000 in out of county funds upon completion. The new four wing, 28 bed hospital would replace the current facility on West Fourth Street, Cameron.

Milam County banks report about a million-dollar rise in deposits at the June 15 call from a year earlier. Five banks total 20 042 336 40 compared with 19 132 213 23 in June 1959.
