Intrepid Battle to Save Lineman Ends in Tragic Death
Oliver Blackman died after a five hour rescue effort following electrocution by a 115 volt wire while repairing a telephone cable on North Houston street near the D. D. Harris residence. Despite rapid response by J. Albert Young and W. L. Kilgore of the Texas Power & Light Company and a team of medical staff, resuscitation attempts failed at Cameron Hospital. Emergency responders, including Earl Moseley and others, assisted since Blackman was found suspended from the cable and airlifted from the scene.
