Oliver Blackburn, lineman for Southwestern Bell, was near death at Cameron Hospital at 4 p.m. after a near electrocution by high voltage wires on North Houston street near the federal building. Rescue efforts failed by 4:30 p.m. and he was pronounced unlikely to be revived. Earl Moseley assisted with resuscitation attempts before the hospital arrival.

Court Won't Rehear Newton Case Reversal

Cameron Reports War Bond Totals Reach Over Twenty-One Thousand
E Bond sales in Cameron on Thursday totaled 7637.50, lifting four day total to 21605.25 and inching toward the 70000 quota. Negotiable bonds sold that day reached 81000, with noon estimates suggesting the city may hit the E bond target soon. Bonds are government issues bought by ordinary citizens. A porcupine believed to be the only one seen in this area was captured on the Mrs E Fisher ranch near Hanover by F B Fisher and Ike Ditto. It now sits in a pen at the Fisher farm and eats corn bread.
