Louisiana May Be Site Location for Alcoa Plant
Representative W R Poage of Waco says published reports on Aluminum Co of America building a $100 million plant in Milam County, Texas may have raised land prices and hurt Milam’s chances. He plans talks Wednesday with Alcoa officials and federal agents, noting Louisiana’s bid with water and port access. Milam cites lignite reserves and solved surface water issues, yet Poage pegs Milam’s 50-50 odds.
