Chicago to Build巨 Merchandize Mart Aims at Central Market
Chicago plans a vast Merchandise Mart, a two city block, eighteen story building costing about 30 million dollars. The project, located along the riverfront opposite Wacker Drive, will house hundreds of manufacturers wholesalers and importers with a major freight station and a merchants club in the tower.
