The 100F Colts beat the RKo tary Cats 10-6 on Friday night to even the PONY League record at one win each. Steve Malone pitched eight strong innings, with Wayne Puckett driving in two runs and Sammy Morgan adding two RBIs. Chris Gay scored three times as the Colts totaled 10 runs on eight hits. Cat hitters James Anderle and Charles Staley went 2 for 3, and Bobby Griswold threw out two baserunners. Ronnie Williams pitched Top relief for the Colts to sustain the edge.

Braden Case Set For Trial In District Court
A Milam district jury will hear opening statements Monday in the state v Charles Phillip Braden 22 of Houston on a murder with malice charge in the death of Johnnie Sanders Jr 26 of Fort Worth. District Attorney Bob Nelson said Sanders died from a gunshot wound outside the Starlite Club about 1140 pm December 22 following an argument in the club. Sanders’ brother Claude Sanders 20 of Cameron was seriously wounded. Braden has been out on a 7500 bond since arraignment after being indicted by a district grand jury in January. Sanders died on the operating table from an abdominal wound. Both Braden and Sanders were visiting relatives in the area the weekend of the shooting.

77 Drive In to Reopen Friday With New Screen
The 77 Drive-In Theatre on US 77 North will reopen Friday with a new Cinemascope screen after winds demolished the old one. The Friday Saturday double feature will be War Drums and Port Afrique.
