County Judge W G Gillis and County Clerk Jeff T Kemp attended the unveiling of Mike Kartye’s monument at Thorndale cemetery last Sunday afternoon. The event, under Canoly W O W lodge, praised Kartye for his unpaid service. A unanimous club vote adopted a resolution. Chau tau qu a plans for next year were deferred after tonight’s program.

Fire Destroys Cavitt Barn and Auto on Fast 18th Street
Fire discovered Sunday night around 1 am destroyed J. B. Cavitt’s barn on Fast 18th street near 11th. An Overland car, feed, and several setting hens were lost. Loss may exceed 1500 dollars with 400 dollars ins on the barn only. Probers suspect arson by a prowler, rain hindered efforts as firemen saved adjacent structures.

A Monday meeting in the district court room organized the Hobby For Governor club with Jeff D. Hefley as chairman and W. M. Cobb as secretary. W. T. Yates Injured After Car Ditching
W T Yates and companions John Johnson and Roy Griffith were returning from a Pleasant Hill singing convention to Thorndale when their car ditched near Thorndale. Yates suffered severe cuts on his left leg needing many stitches. he received first aid in Thorndale and was later brought home. The other occupants were uninjured.
