The First Baptist Church of Cameron will convene final services in its 1896 sanctuary, a Milam County landmark for 64 years. The new $150,000 sanctuary is awarded to Cofield Construction of Rockdale, with tearing of the old building handled by East First Used Lumber Yard of Austin.

The Cameron School Board called bids for a 33-foot press box at Yoe Field and outlined plans for the 1960 61 football season. The board met in regular session to discuss business and hear an improvement report. They hired Mrs Alice G Hughes and Mrs William F Arthur as home making unit and teacher at Yoe School. A vacancy arose with the resignation of Mrs Imogene Whatley who will teach.

School Plans New Pressbox at Texas Christian University
A 33 by 8 foot pressbox with air conditioning separate areas for radio news and public address workers and an upper level for visiting and home team camermen is planned to replace the current south stands frame structure at Texas Christian University. A committee led by Dr S H Richardson outlined the plan and studies of comparable pressboxes in Central Texas schools. The board granted use of facilities for Civil Defense courses approved by the TEA and praised the work of the school tax equalization board.

Bank plans drive in expansion in Cameron downtown
The Citizens National Bank announces a drive in bank and office expansion into the adjacent Macintosh building at Travis and Main Streets. An underground pneumatic tube will connect the new drive in to the main bank, with nine car spaces and two teller windows. The MacIntosh space will house loan officers and a directors room as the theater building is converted. The project marks the bank's 60th anniversary with bidding opening August 15 and completion in about 60 working days.
