Assist Milam County Agent announces record book workshops in Sharp School House Thorndale Cham ber of Commerce Rockdale Marak School and Cameron County Extension Office. 4 H members must attend. records due August 17 to county office and August 24 to district office. Livestock Marketing Clinic Set in San Antonio
The annual Livestock Marketing Clinic co sponsored by the Texas Agricultural Extension Service San Antonio Market Institute and the Union Stockyards will be in San Antonio on July 3. The Union Stockyards hosts the event with a cattle pricing demonstration using the new dual grading system. Registration begins at 8 a m.

Milam County Plans for Crops Tour and 1962 Programs
Milam County groups schedule a county crops tour July 20 starting at Cameron Post Office with visits to Joe Mueck W C Keith and other farms for fertility tests maize and cotton variety trials insect control and fertilizer tests. The Milam ASCS mails 1962 feed grain eligibility notices and outlines loan receipt rules. A range camp for 4H and FFA youths is set for July 29 to Aug 4 at A&M College Junction.

Cattle totals last week 424 head and hogs 171 sold. Prices ranged for steers from 14 to 24 dollars with calves and stockers in the 17 to 29 dollar area, hogs 200 to 250 pounds topping around 18 dollars. Also note poultry adviser Wakefield warns turkey producers to check markets for infestations and seek local agent guidance.

Telstar satellite relays calls and TV from Cape Canaveral
Telstar is launched by Bell System with NASA backing from Cape Canaveral to act as a microwave relay in space. It receives signals from a U S ground station and transmits them to another ground station, enabling long distance voices and TV data.
