St Monica's Parish Reports Progress in 1932
At a Sunday meeting Rev. Geo Apel presented the annual finances for St Monica's parish. Income totaled 4021.50 with expenditures 3758.31 incl a 1500 note payoff and 100 interest plus 250 interest on another note. Pastor salary was 1000. Debt on the new church reduced to 5400. The parish praised for progress and asked continued support. St Monica's is a notable Central Texas church built under Father Apel.

About 560.00 was issued from the Milam County Emergency Relief headquarters Saturday. Unemployed men received three days work at one dollar a day. A new shift began Monday at 75 cents for two days. Roughly 100 men worked the past week.

Harvey Wilson pled guilty to theft of a turkey and received 80 days in the penitentiary. He had earlier been convicted of forgery and passing on September 17, 1931, with a two year suspended sentence later revoked for new conviction. He must serve the two years plus 30 days for the theft.

Highway Assured Act Funds Pledged for Elm Creek to Burlington Route
