Milam County prepares a county wide March of Dimes campaign starting January 15 under Milam Drive Chairman Max McClaren. A January 11 county meeting at 7 30 pm at the Cameron Court House will organize town committees and appoint co chairmen Gene Blake and Mrs J L Callaway with extensive county surveys to boost the 1951 goal beyond 1950.

Total Loss In Early Morning Fire Here
The home of Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Angell was destroyed by fire in the early hours of Sunday January 7. A second alarm brought a second truck to keep flames from spreading to nearby houses. No insurance covered the house or furniture. Donations from Battetown Baptist Church and Colored Progressive Baptist Church supported the family, with further help requested.

Cecil Davis Jr 21 Killed in Texas Power Accident
Cecil Davis Jr 21, a transmission power department employee of Texas Power and Light, was fatally injured around 10 20 AM Wednesday after contacting high voltage lines at a Cameron substation on Highway 190. Despite four hours of artificial respiration and medical efforts, he died. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Cecil Davis Sr of Taylor and had served three years with the company. Funeral arrangements were made in Taylor.

Enemy Driven Back On Wonju Front
Allied forces pushed back North Korean troops about three miles on the southern approaches to Wonju Korea. The counterattack reached high hills two miles from Wonju in heavy snow, with infantry and artillery fighting as air support and tanks were hampered by conditions.

Amos Franklin McGregor age 60 died Tuesday at his Hoyte home from a heart attack. He was born February 14 1890 in Milano and lived in Hoyte three years. Survivors include his widow a son Talmadge of Cameron a daughter Mrs. Howard Cochran of Houston and five sisters and five brothers.
