Rev O'Sullivan Named Pastor of St Mary's Taylor

Rev T F O'Sullivan, pastor of St Michael's Burlington, is appointed by Bishop Byrne to succeed the late Rev Theo Drees as pastor of St Mary's Taylor. A native of Limerick Ireland he is one of three O'Sullivan priest brothers with ties to Masonville Waco and New Brighton England.

147 Legionaires in Cameron Register

KE. W. Streetman post commander announced 147 ex service men signed questionnaires under the Legion plan to aid the United States Government. Registration was incomplete due to blanks running out. additional blanks will be ordered and another day set for completion. Local posts may determine continuation dates with guidance from the National Department.

Future Farmers of America Honor at Buckholts Banquet

Buckholts FFA chapter held its annual Father and Son banquet Friday night February 21 in the school gym. Officers chaired the event with the home economics class serving, Rev McCrary gave the invocation, Judge Graham Gillis delivered the principal address on George Washington the Farmer, and Senator Kyle Vick attended commenting on pending legislation of interest.

Southwestern Life reports a 1940 gain of 20 364 408 in insurance in force boosting total to 381 132 934. Assets rose over 6 million to 73 415 129 77 with no bond default and Texas focus. Lou Fuller of Milam County Buried at North Elm

Funeral services for Mrs. Lou Goodnight Fuller were held at North Elm Baptist Church with interment in North Elm Cemetery. She was born in 1861, descendant of the Goodnight family, survived by six children, thirty five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Brothers Charles Goodnight and Henry Goodnight and sister Mrs. A. J. Bird also survive.

Hunter Carlton Sheffield Nets Remarkable 24 Rabbits and Snakes

Carlton Sheffield hunted in Ben Arnold country on Wednesday and killed 24 rabbits 10 rattlesnakes and one chicken snake. The 22 rifle marksman previously killed 20 rabbits there and his Wednesday haul surpasses known local records. He recalled missing a rabbit earlier and then hit a running target a hundred yards away.

Congressman Boran Dies In Plane Crash Near Atlanta

The article reports Congressman Boran of New Jersey killed in a plane crash near Atlanta, Georgia. Captain Eddie Rickenbacker, aviation ace and Eastern Air Lines president, was injured but not believed to be fatally affected. Thirteen passengers were aboard. Boran is the only confirmed fatality.

Funeral Services Held for Mrs. Chas Brady in Giddings

Mrs. Charles A. Brady died in Cameron after a blood illness. Funeral services were held Feb 22 in Giddings Lutheran Church and Cameron home with Rev. John W. Mills. she was survived by husband Charles and four children Charles Almarice Andrea and Edward, plus relatives in Giddings and Waco. Cameron to host the ninth annual Invitation Track Meet sponsored by Charles M. Hicks of Yee High School on Saturday March 8 with potential record attendance. Last year 50 schools and 400 contestants were represented. 1941 preliminaries start at 1 30 pm and finals in the evening. awards include 57 medals and two trophies for relay events plus gold track shoes for the top point men.
