Walter Frances Sharpe, a Cameron business leader who ran the family jewelry and gift store and served as vice president of First National Bank, died suddenly of a heart attack during a Cameron Country Club golf game. He was born March 27, 1891, in Brenham and active in First Methodist Church.

Bloodmobile Visit Set in Cameron on March 6

Approximately 400 Milam County Farm Bureau members attended the Sixth Annual Meeting held Thursday in Simon-George Hall. John A. Smith chaired, with A. C. Wimpee guiding ceremonies. Rev. A. F. Final Rites Held for S. E. Brogdon
S. E. Brogdon 66 died at Torbett Hospital Marlin at 3 a.m. Sunday February 21. Born September 12, 1887 in Wood County, he lived in Cameron 35 years and served Southwestern Life Insurance Company 38 years. He was worshipful master of San Andres Lodge No. 177 AF&AM and a Cameron Rotary Club member. Funeral services were at the First Baptist Church.

World Day Of Prayer Observed In Cameron
The City of Cameron joins in prayer for world peace on Monday March 5 at 3 p.m. at the First Christian Church under the Cameron Council of Churches. The Byrd Oil Company and R E Smith No 1 T S Henderson Estate in Milam County wildcat east of Hanover drilled to 5850 feet after a negative test in the Edwards. The Edwards core showed limestone with fractures and oil saturation at 5552 56 feet. Drill stem test recovered 110 feet drilling mud and 3000 feet salt water on a 1 hour 25 minute run to 6526 56 feet.

The Third Annual Rosebud Band Clinic is planned at Rosebud High School on Tuesday March 2 with bands from Cameron Marlin La Vega and Rosebud. Hosts will be the Rosebud Black Panther Band.
