Mrs. Lee Shipp died suddenly at her Houston home Monday night at 10 30 according to Herald reports. She was born Cameron and survived by husband three sons a daughter Betty Jean Shipp and other relatives. Granddaughter of R L Batte Sr she was educated in Cameron and married there. A first cousin of Mildred Thornton arrived from Alabama for a few hours. Funeral arrangements not announced.

Marine Marvin Mode Killed in South Pacific War
The War Department notified Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Mode of Burlington that their son Marvin Mode was killed in action in the South Pacific on January 29, 1943. Mode enlisted in July 1942, trained in the United States, and served in the Pacific theater. He attended Cameron grammar school and Buckholts high school and was 17 at his death, survived by his parents four sisters and two brothers.

James Schuemate Dies at Home in Cameron 1943
James Schuemate aged 45 died of a heart attack at his Cameron home on February 21 1943. He had been in ill health for eight years. Funeral services are planned at the Methodist church with interment in Minerva Cemetery. Surviving are his widow five sons his parents Mr and Mrs J B Schuemate of Waco five brothers and four sisters and Pvt James T Schnemate in Oceanside California.
