Milam County records show a $46,199.59 remittance to the county from Roy Law tax collector on February 8 1930 under a new auto license fee law allowing counties to keep fees up to 50 000. About $456 went to the state highway fund from charter licenses transfers and duplicate plates. Auto registrations totaled 4934 cars 742 trucks and 2 motor buses through February 18 with funds now remitted to the state highway department. Law thanks Milam newspapers for promoting registration awareness.

In a County Court trial this morning before a jury Paul Marburger long time Cameron resident was adjudged insane and will be taken to the state asylum at Austin. Witnesses said he had shown signs of insanity for weeks and he was taken into custody Monday by officers.

A community cooking school run by the Community Natural Gas Company runs February 18 to 21 in Cameron. Mesdames Minnie Hendricks and Daisy Swart lead daily programs with the Roper gas stove used in demonstrations. Prizes include a Roper gas range on Friday. merchants provide groceries for attendees.
Rev J L Davis of Catrina Texas will lead a revival at the First Presbyterian Church starting Wednesday night February 26 and ending Sunday night March 9 1930. He is a pastor not a professional evangelist and comes highly recommended. Town residents are invited and urged to attend these services.
Friends report Chas McDermott, owner of a teaming and trucking firm in Taylor, was injured in an oil field accident last Thursday. He suffered a severe wound to his left eye but returned to his business Wednesday and is expected to recover fully in a short time.
Mrs John Owens, a former resident of Cameron, is spending the month managing business interests. She is staying at the Bigbee House and has secured a room.
Mrs J Z Young and her children spent Sunday in Calvert with her sister. They were joined home by Mrs M R Looney the mother of Mrs Young who plans a several day visit here.
