The Cameron city primary nominates three aldermen and a chairman for the City Democratic Executive Committee to be held next Tuesday February 14 1933. Acting Chair J W Coleman is receiving candidate filings. Incumbent aldermen are among the filed hopefuls plus two others. The April general election will choose these officers for a two year term. B Slocomb announces his candidacy for Alderman subject to the Tuesday primary.

Roy Womak Dies at Home in Colorado
A message reached Mrs. Jessie Winn announcing the death of her nephew Roy Womak on February 7, 1933, at his Lamar Colorado home where he had lived the past three years. He was born in Cameron, son of Willie Womak, survived by his wife two daughters his father and aunt, with funeral arrangements not yet set.

Robbers forced entry to the Zalesky Dry Goods Store pouring from counters and rifling show cases of silk goods. Missing merchandise includes mens shirts and silk hosiery. Estimated loss above 200 dollars. Entry gained by removing a rear door glass and lifting the bolt. No arrests yet reported.

Clarence Booker, 24, a Cameron resident, confessed to killing Andy Smith on December 21, 1982, for a jar of silver coins. He was arrested February 3, 1933, after a weeks long manhunt led by Milam County Sheriff Leonard Blaylock. Booker’s confession followed nine hours of questioning in the McLennan County jail. Witnesses’ testimony supported the charge, and Booker will await grand jury indictment and trial.
