Last Survivor of Milam County Hood’s Brigade Dies at 95
Sam Bellah, long resident of Bernard after Cameron, died at his home December 22 at age 95. A veteran of Hood’s Texas Brigade Company G, 5th Hood’s Brigade, he fought in Virginia battles and was the last Milam County member to wear the Gray. He leaves several grown children across the state and was connected by marriage to Mrs Martha Rogers, widow of Major J C Rogers.
