Funeral services were held for Willie Riggins 50 of Cameron who died from an accidental gunshot wound at his home. Investigators say a shell from a stuck 9mm pistol discharged while he attempted to remove it. Justice of the Peace Jess Brock ruled accidental death. Riggins survived by a wife two sons a daughter and siblings. Burial was at Minerva Cemetery.
The Central Texas Red Cross Bloodmobile comes to Cameron at the Methodist Fellowship Hall from 12 noon to 6 p.m. on December 1. Prizes donated by L and M Co of Cameron include 5 00 gold pond stamps for first, 3 00 for second, and 2 000 for third. This visit follows an August flood mobile that collected 107 units with 126 donors. organizers expect longer lines to ease with extra staff. Donors aged 18 to 65 may give, with parental consent required for those under 21.
A man robbed of funds turned over to authorities after a pursuit ending at St Edward Hospital. A third driver is suspected. a similar scam in January yielded about $600 from a Cameron man.
