Cameron merchants showcase extensive Christmas stock with window displays drawing shoppers. Palace of Sweets plans a Friday re opening while local shops Gohmerts and Dobbins feature bright toy and gift displays. Shoppers are urged to organize pecan grower efforts in Milan as holidays approach.
Milam County seeks to organize a Milam County Pecan Association to protect and grow pecan production. Key organizers include Sam Mcwhinney Buckholts A H Baskin R L Batte T S Henderson Sr H H Camp San Gabriel Wm Rogers W S Lamkin H F Smith Sr J S Jacobs Minerva G C Black Geo T Graves. The Herald invites input from landowners to form the association and advance pecan culture locally.

Wm. Dittmann wealthy Alleytown farmer died at his home early Tuesday after injuries from a collision near Columbus Monday. He was a brother of Mrs. A. F. Mitchell of Cameron and funeral services were held at Alleytown Wednesday afternoon.
Roy Law and his office prepare for 1927 auto registrations with green plates and no fee change from last year. Cars must have 1926 tax paid and a headlight certificate to be registered. Early registrants avoid the January rush.

In response to Roy Law's letter the International and Great Northern Railroad sends a tax payment of 12,608.01 dollars. The tax collector expresses gratitude for the early payment.
H. B. Pressley of Hoyte was a visitor to Cameron on Monday, bringing a brief social call and greeting.

John A. Smith, a native Texan and pioneer born February 25, 1851 in Washington county, died at his home December 2, 1926 after a short illness from kidney infection and poisoning. He came to Texas with his parents in 1850, grew up in Milam County, attended Port Sullivan College, and was survived by his wife and children.
