15 Year Old Boy Slugged and Robbed on North Houston
Johnnie Barrett, 15, was slugged with a whiskey bottle and robbed of 1.50 on North Houston street Tuesday night. He suffered a severe bruise and a cut on his forehead and lay unconscious for nearly an hour before reaching home around 1 a.m after leaving a hamburger stand at 12 05.

Sam Rudder Jr Died in Japanese Prison Camp
Samuel D Rudder Jr son of Mr and Mrs Sam D Rudder Sr of Cameron died in a Japanese prison camp. A telegram from the War Department dated Christmas Day 1942 notified the family of his death after being missing in action since the fall of Corregidor.
