A local auto shop touts its top mechanics Herman McKinney and L Shires and invites customers to bring work for guaranteed satisfaction. They promote battery replacement and charging, rent batteries, Goodrich tires, Good Gulf gasoline, Supreme Auto Oil, Johnson freezone, pumps, jacks, horns, and other auto supplies with promise to source any needed parts.
The text defines a slacker as a false pretender who buys War Savings Stamps to redeem them later, risking government lists and public exposure. It warns Milam county residents and notes stamp nontransferability and a $5 value to be redeemed January 1, 1923. It also reports influenza-related closure of the University of Texas by regents and doctors in Austin.

Last Friday evening at Mrs. M. E. Weaver home Miss Maidie Weaver hosted a small gathering to bid farewell to her sister Mamie who departs the next day for Dallas to pursue a business course. The group sang played games and made candy in a cheerful send off.
