Mexican farmer buried after worm poison death
Frank Valdez, 42, a farmer on the Sneed ranch, died August 15 1926 from poison exposure while handling cotton. It is the first known fatal case though several illnesses were reported. He was buried by the Mexican Mutual Benefit Association. funeral directed by Coleman & Eplen. He was survived by his widow and seven children.

Fifty Bales Ginned So Far. Picking to Start Next Week
Estimates taken Thursday from Cameron ginners place put ginned cotton at fifty bales to date. Gins refuse exact counts but are freely estimating. Large scale picking is planned to begin next week. Farmers continue to seek normal conditions.

J T Folmer 66 a pioneer citizen of Gause and Milam County died August 17 1926 at Cameron Hospital after a brief illness. He was buried August 18 1926 in Gause cemetery with Baptist service andMasonic lodge rites conducted by the Cameron Diamond Lodge and Green Brothers directing. He is survived by his widow and several children.

John F. Coswell, wanted in Pain Beach Florida on a statutory charge, is under arrest here. Sheriff Blaylock took him into custody on information furnished by Florida authorities. Coswell had been employed as a lineman for the Texas Public Utilities Company.

Edna Dunham Dies in Car Tragedy Near Buckholts Pike
Edna Dunham 18 died about 9 50 PM Wednesday while riding in an auto with Lester Williams near the power plant arrest ing station on the Buckholts pike. She grew ill and passed before reaching Dr Denson. Funeral from Tracy home with burial at Sharpe cemetery. She was a Cameron High School 1925 graduate and Trinity University student.

23 Cars of Wheat and Oil Burned Near Heidenheimer
Twenty three cars of wheat and oil were destroyed by fire after a southbound Santa Fe freight derailed south of Heidenheimer during the midnight hour. Eight cars of grain and 15 cars of oil burned, with several wrecked parts saved by moving to safety. Detours routed trains over the Katy to Taylor and over the Lo & G, wreckers delaying due to intense heat. No damage estimate available Monday.

Mattie Morton paused in Cameron for a few days last week on a Gulf coast trip back to Dallas. She stayed with Judge Ed English and family and with Dr. and Mrs. Sapp and Mrs Cora Cammer. Morton once lived in Cameron thirty years ago and raised a family there, and many friends hope for another longer visit in the future.
