Four year terms proposed for Texas elective offices
Legislative plan seeks to amend multiple sections of the Texas Constitution to set four year terms for district county and precinct elected officers. It requires a November 1954 special election to approve changes including county clerks county judges sheriffs and other officials with staggered terms and the governor to issue the proclamation.
