Austin April 27 Public School Apportionment announces an April allocation of about $2,200,000 with a per capita share of $2 based on 1,100,000 scholastics in Texas. This brings total apportionments to $6 for the year with $2 remaining unissued. Mr O W Wingfield of Milano toured Cameron Saturday. he is trucking this year and reports good crop prospects.

New Oil Company Formed to Drill Near Rockdale
Dr B Wallis returned from Austin announcing formation of an oil company to drill on the Bud Richards farm two miles southwest of Rockdale. Capital stock is 21000 with one dollar par shares. officers include T S Henderson president and Jack Hale secretary treasurer. Directors include W S Ray and others from Austin. Drilling expected to start in about two weeks. Oil and gas reportedly bubbling in a pool on the Richards lease of 250 acres.

Temple official shot to death over road work dispute
Wm. M. Dickey longtime Temple citizen and Beat 4 commissioner was shot in Engineer Kingsley’s office during a dispute over good roads graveling near the McNeeley farm. C. S. McNeeley surrendered and was jailed without bond pending examination Tuesday. The killing stemmed from county road maintenance complaints.

Six Amendments To Be Voted On In General Election

Taylor Texas April 24 five thousand dollars for one acre off the Diebel farm sold by Diebel to Young is the record price in the oil field. One thousand dollars offered for a drilling stand 20 by 20 feet. The Lee Oil Co well came in lengthening the field 260 yards north and producing 1 000 barrels. Crop and fire damage will top 250000 in the county. Fifteen thousand barrels burned in Thrall field last night by fire and water.
