Veterans Benefit Van to Visit Cameron for Informational Hour
A mobile van staffed by two veterans benefits counselors will tour Cameron on Friday offering information and counseling for veterans and dependents. Located on the vacant lot south of the courthouse on Main and Fannin from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the program aims to help those not fully using benefits access education, employment, home loans, medical care, disability, pensions, life insurance, death benefits, and other veteran benefits.

Yee High School National Honor Society hosts a Rocking-Chair-A-Thon on Saturday April 23 from 9 to 6 at the downtown Cameron mall to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. City tax rebates rise 33 percent from last year
Cameron reports 35424.93 this year in sales tax rebates with 4336.19 received this month. Comptroller Bullock notes reduced refunds handling from 4.76 percent to 2 percent increasing cities’ take by about 3 percent. Buckholts totals 736.33 through April. L flatlands and Rockdale record 26127 with 4660 refund. Rogers up 5 percent with 2064 refunds.
