Reno divorce reports reveal Dr George C Butte, justice of the supreme court of the Philippine Islands, was divorced from Mary R Butte on grounds of cruelty. The couple wed in Washington on March 24 1928 and the case was disclosed by her attorney E F Lunsford.

J Pike aged 72 a La Grange Georgia business man and uncle of C N Green of Cameron died at his Georgia home on April 5. News reached Milam county via a letter to the family. The La Grange Journal recounts his life as an empire builder who led multiple enterprises over 30 years.

Jeter died suddenly Saturday April 8 at 6 05 p m at his Cameron home 704 East 12th street He had led the Jeter Lumber Company since 1917 and headed both Jeter Lumber and Hearne Lumber after the 1920s mergers He also helped found the Cameron Chamber of Commerce and served as its first president A member of San Andres Lodge No 170 and Cameron Temple A A O N M S his death ends a long career in Cameron business and philanthropy.

Funeral Services for Mrs Mary Thompson
The remains of Mrs. Mary Thompson age 76 who died suddenly at the home of her husband in Dallas were brought to Cameron. Services were held at Little River Baptist Church with Rev. George D McClellen officiating. Interment in Little River Cemetery. She was born June 23 1857 in Norristown Ark and came to Texas in 1872. Survived by son J E Foreman of Dallas a granddaughter Evelyn Foreman and brother John R Veasey of Waco. Pallbearers named. floral tributes laid on the grave.
