Unhappy Farm Girl Dies in Lone Farmhouse Tragedy
Lidie Salah, 21, was found dead in a North Elm area farm home from a self inflicted 38 caliber gunshot wound. An inquest ruled death by her own action after she described a broken friendship and mistreatment by her lover. A note in her left hand explained the ending of an unhappy love affair and pointed to remorse for those involved. Her funeral was held Tuesday with burial in Bell county.

Veterans Pay Out New Disability and Dependent Rates
The new order reduces government expenses with an estimated annual saving of about 450 million dollars. Revised monthly disability rates range from 8 dollars for 10 percent to 80 dollars for 100 percent. Additional increases apply for loss of a limb or sight and for blind veterans. Dependents receive new payments including widows and widow with child with modest adds.

Mrs Mary Thompson age 79 died suddenly at her son's Dallas home and was brought to Cameron for burial at Little River cemetery. Green Brothers received the body over the Santa Fe and held it in the parlors until the funeral at 10 o clock. Rev George McClellen of Fort Worth led services at the Little River Baptist church. Interment followed in Little River cemetery. She was aunt of Mrs C W Tyson and great aunt of Mrs Guy T Newton of Cameron. A fuller obituary to follow.

An 1832 Crockett relic chair and fork tainted by Civil War use pass from Col. Crockett’s widow to granddaughter Mrs. T. H. Hiner of Grandbury Texas. The chair and teapot were brought from Tennessee to Texas in a covered wagon, and Crockett’s fork prong served as an awl for shoe making during the Civil War.

Trial Date Set for Martinez in Yager Farm Killing
Isidor Martinez a Mexican charged with the murder of Marasilino ceada near May field on the Yager farm. A jury pool of 50 men will be selected. E A Wallace is appointed to defend Martinez. The shooting occurred at Saceada's home during a dance and marriage celebration. Two other Mexicans Blas Equivel and Sam Hernandez were injured.
