Triggs Dry Goods to Move into Roddy Building

Triggs Dry Goods Company plans a modern up-to-date store after leasing the Yee building from Roddy Store. Roddy will close Saturday April 13 for remodeling, with Triggs stocking $40 000 to $60 000 in goods including dry goods, gentlemen's furnishings and a strong Ladies Ready-to-Wear department. Cameron anticipates a prideful new retail presence as the move completes.

Miss Willyne Hyde of Thorn dale has accepted a position with Citizens National Bank as stenographer. Her baking line experience and stenographic work are expected to make her a valuable asset to the bank’s staff.

Fire damages north Cameron wood house and garden

A fire Monday at noon damaged a wood house at Mrs. William Jeter's North Houston street home in Cameron. The shed and most of the wood were burned but saved before the blaze grew. Five boys quickly responded and helped control the fire, saving the garden which was trampled by high winds and firefighting activity.

Cheeves Family Attends Temple Funeral of Father

S W Cheeves and family traveled to Temple on Tuesday to attend the funeral of his father who died Monday afternoon. He had been by his father's side since Sunday morning.

Loyalty Celebration in Milam County Parade Delights Crowd

Milam County celebrates a grand loyalty event on April 6 with a rain added luck. Cameron's Main Street parade features 114 vehicles, Miss Myrtle Caldwell leading with flags, a 28 piece Cameron band, and varied floats including Joan of Arc and Uncle Samuel replicas. The event showcases Red Cross workers, school children, and patriotic groups, ending with an air show by Lt. Christian from Waco and speeches by local officials.

Gillis, county chairman of the Third Liberty Loan Campaign, spoke to a large crowd. Prof Knizek delivered a Bohemian language address on loyalty to the U S A that drew strong praise from Bohemian patriotic citizens.
