Milam County Drafted Negroes Depart for Camp Travis
Forty nine drafted Black men from Milam county left the city Tuesday for Camp Travis in San Antonio. A farewell party was held at Fullers restaurant. They boarded the train merrily and sang a marching line about the Kaiser and the fate of the Black soldiers if white men fail to defeat him.

Mothers' Club Plans Treasure and Trinket Days for Airmen
The Mothers' Club met at Mrs. Claude McGregor's home to set April 12 and 13 for treasure and trinket days. A Melling Pot will collect broken jewelry for melting to fund comforts and hospital equipment for American airmen. They formed a parent teacher war saving society with officers Mrs. R. P. Jackson Heads to Basin Wyoming for Federal Building Work
