Waymie Worcester Injured in Automobile Collision
Waymie Mae Worcester, daughter of Mr and Mrs Buck Worcester, was struck by a passing automobile at noon Thursday on her way to school. She suffered leg cuts bruises and a facial cut from the fender. an ambulance transported her to the hospital. She is not fatally hurt and is expected to recover in a few days.

Judge Gillis spoke with eloquence and drew strong applause, while Head Consul R H McDill presided and national officers addressed the gathering. The order reported large investments in County and Municipal securities and a robust War Memorial Hospital at San Antonio with a 2 2 million endowment supporting care for about 150 men daily. Howell and Gillis said the organization is flourishing and urged attendance at the next meeting April 28.

Rev J 1 Sailes Dead at Houston Home
Reverend J T Sailes 91 longtime Presbyterian pastor and evangelist died at his daughter Mamie Booths home in Houston at 4 pm Friday. Born January 17 1840 in Belfast Ireland he organized northern Louisiana first Sunday school and served Cameron Presbyterian. He is survived by two daughters nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Burial was in Monroe Louisiana after services there.

World War II veteran dies in car crash near Brenham
Charlie Hicks age 35 was killed when he lost control of his car eight miles west of Brenham on Saturday night. A riding companion was uninjured. Hicks, born 1896 near Rosebury, lived in Milam County and recently moved to Brenham. He served in the Ninetieth Division overseas. Funeral at Ben Arnold First Baptist Church in Cameron with military honors by the American Legion. Interment in Ben Arnold cemetery. Survived by widow, a daughter, his mother and two sisters. Co N Green & Brothers handled remains.

Legion Meeting Declines Official Aid To Road Bonds
Edwin Hardy Post No. 9 American Legion held a jubilee meeting with large attendance to celebrate bonus payments. Commander Hoover and aides reported progress while T. S. Henderson urged state road bond action. the post declined official stance in line with post policy. The Commercial Club received the bond issue notice with no action. The issue resurfaced after a Wednesday state senate vote. Governor Sterling supported it against Mrs. Ferguson.
