Infant dies after tiny birth at Richards Hospital

A newborn weighing 1 pound 15 ounces, born 5 30 a m last Monday at Richards Hospital Rockdale to Mr and Mrs Eddie A Huntsman Jr, died at Scott and White Temple Hospital after an airlift by MAST from Fort Hood. The hospital transfer marked MAST s first airlift from Rockdale. In Hearne, Police Chief Roy Robertson resigned citing conflicts with the city manager over car equipment and communications. In Gatesville, an 11 year old girl injured by a 7200 volt line while chasing a bird with four feet of ground clearance recovered from burns and shock.

THC Seeks Reroute of US 190 in Milam County

The Texas Highway Commission proposes rerouting US 190 in Milam and Robertson counties to create a higher standard highway between Hearne and Cameron. The plan shifts US 190 onto SH 36 and US 77, redesignates the old segment as Farm to Market Road 485, and awaits AASHTO approval with an effective date of January 1, 1976.

Cattle Prices Jump at Cameron Livestock Auction

Receipts totaled 938 cattle and calves at Cameron on Thursday, up from 487 last week and 450 a year ago. Slaughter calves and yearlings rose $3 to $4, slaughter cows and bulls $1 to $1.50, feeder steers and calves $1 to $2, and feeder heifers $1. Prices ranged with choice slaughter calves at 30 to 34.50, slaughter steers 28 to 32.50, feeder steers 30 to 33.75, and feeder heifers 20 to 24.50.

Former Bankers Plead Guilty in Misapplication Case

Former First State Bank officials Jerry Kuehler and Adrian Richter pled guilty to false entry charges in a federal misapplication case. They changed from not guilty to guilty on March 28 in Austin and face sentencing on April 24 before District Judge Jack Roberts.

TJC To Exhibit Schiller Collection

Temple Junior College hosts a four week exhibit of Larry Schiller’s nostalgic photography from April 7 to 30. The Cameron Texas photographer whose work has appeared in Memphis galleries studied at Yee High School TJC and the University of Texas at Austin before joining Richards Manufacturing and Holiday Inn. The Library show runs Monday to Thursday 8 to 5 and 6 30 to 10 pm with Sunday 2 to 5 pm access.
