Andrew Houston, 69, longtime Cameron resident, died at his San Antonio home on March 29 after a long illness. Funeral services were set for 9:00 a.m. Friday with burial at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery. Survivors include eight children and siblings Grady Houston Emma Moore and John Houston of Cameron.
Retired heavyweight champion Joe Louis announced he will not seek a title rematch with Ezzard Charles. He plans an exhibition tour through South America and a Dailey Brothers circus engagement starting May 24, with a minimum salary of 1000 dollars per day.
