Milam County Texas court in special session orders a May 3 1919 election in Road District Eight Buckholts to decide issuing bonds of 115000 dollars at 5.5 percent to fund macadamized roads and turnpikes with a tax to pay interest and a sinking fund. Publication and posting rules set. Thos W Adams named election manager. voters must be property taxpayers of the district.

San Gabriel Gossip Highlights School Meet and Local News
The April issue notes our school suspension for last Friday to attend the Interscholastic meet in Thorndale where Freeman Gamble won senior boys, Inez Goff won junior girls, Virgel Foster second in senior girls, and Hope Camp Jr. second in junior boys. Rain refreshed the area and San Gabriel river rose slightly. Several residents visited Thorndale for events, and local church attendance was affected by illness. A dipping vat for stock is being built near San Gabriel as farmers volunteer to aid.
