Death of Agnes Rockwood Griffiths

Ex Mayor Rockwood and family mourn the death of Agnes Rockwood Griffiths who died May 18 after coming to Cambridge from Pittsburgh for treatment. She stayed at her father's Avon Street home before moving to the N. E. Hospital for Women. Educated in Cambridge, she attended Peabody and Latin schools. Continued on Page 5.

Park Board Session Sees Sam Pill Lead Brief Meeting

Acting Chair Sam Pill directed a quick Park Board session in the absence of Chair Spencer. Five of nine members attended. Cambridge Central Labor Union may use Cambridge Field for Labor Day. Mahoney reported Washington Elm markers to be loosened. A $100 appropriation was approved for a granite-edged 26 inch plate to be installed on the street with a circle to steer traffic.

License Board Suspends Cambridge Cafe Liquor License

The Cambridge St Prospect Cafe Inc liquor license was suspended for three days by the License Commission after a routine May 4 visit. Police Captain Canney reported a young girl, possibly a minor, seated with two men and served a drink during the incident. Attorney John H. Hurley represented the cafe.
