John Blevins to Move to New Hampshire for Health

Local Leader Charles Burnside Seagrave Dies at 73

Charles Burnside Seagrave, veteran newspaperman and longtime editor and manager of the Cambridge Chronicle for more than four decades, was born August 3, 1862 in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. He began in journalism as a boy, ran papers in Arlington and Cambridge, and led the Chronicle from 1891 until retirement.

Councillor Halts Local Permit Vote Over Firm's Letter

Councillor Hyman Pill delayed action on United Carr Fastener Co. driveway permit on Vassar Street after criticizing the firm for tearing up a job inquiry letter. Chamber New Members Meet Crowns Whites Over Blues

The Chamber of Commerce new members meet at the Commander saw the Whites beat the Blues 29 to 28 in a two group contest. A mop up program continues through Tuesday to recruit 40 more prospects. $15,000 in stage money funded 45 auctioned prizes. The report notes the death of Mrs. Frank Lally just before press time. Beano Crackdown Stirs Cambridge Church Leaders

The Lyons administration halted legalized beano a public gambling game in Cambridge halls.
