Frederica wrecks on Cape Spencer rocks in storm
The British ship Frederica, Captain Churchil, broke apart after striking rocks two miles east of Cape Spencer while en route from Parrsboro to Portland with coal. The crew and officers were rescued as the ship drifted ashore and shattered.
