Conductor Meanor Run Over At Columbus Yard Accident
Herman Meanor a B and O freight conductor, well known in Cambridge, was struck by a yard engine in Columbus last night around 9 50. The steam cocks were opened causing visibility issues. Meanor was thrown under the engine and his right leg severely injured leading to amputation above the ankle. He was taken to Protestant hospital Columbus for treatment with his family notified of the condition and friends here hoping for a speedy recovery.

Obituary of John Shipman Pioneer Republican and Christian Neighbor
John Shipman aged 87, long prominent Guernsey County citizen, died January 30, 1906 at his son in law Marion McCoaneel’s home near Winterset after a lingering illness. A former county commissioner, trustee of his church, and lifelong Republican, he was a devoted husband and father with eight children from his second marriage and many grandchildren. He was born December 2, 1818 in Lycoming Os, Pennsylvania, and lived a long, service-filled life in Ohio values and faith.

Funeral rites for Winterset area elder noted in church service
Funeral services were observed Thursday in the M B church at Winterset with Rev. D Cunningham of Milnersville and Rev Warford of Granville Os preaching. The body was conveyed to Allen's graveyard near Brady for burial. Nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren are mentioned in the obituary.

Mrs Mare Johnson Wilcox hosted a Saturday evening social at her country home near Quaker City on February 3 1906 in honor of Miss Lingo and her senior class of silver medalists.
