Through car service opens Toledo to Pittsburgh route
This road is now open through from Toledo to Bowerston connecting with the Pennsylvania System for all points East. Through car service operates between Toledo Cambridge and Marietta and between Bowerston and Akron, Youngstown and Pittsburgh. General Manager M. D. Woodford and General Passenger Agent James M. Hall announce the upgrade in service and connections available to travelers.

Forger captured in Hartford linked to Singer case
A suspect connected to an extensive forgery on Singer Manufacturing Company, last seen in Burg, Virginia, was captured in Hartford, Connecticut on the 89th ult. General W. W. Loring Pasha, a former U.S. Army and Confederate Army officer who later led Loring's corps in the Egyptian army, died of pneumonia in New York City on the 80th ult. The Hudson River navigation between Newburgh and New York closed for winter on the 80th ult.
