Miss Julia KE Van Emberg hosted an after bowling supper for guests and friends of the Thursday Evening Bowling Club. Mrs N Brown of North Sixteenth Street East Orange hosts a surprise Wednesday gathering. Guests included the Stagers Hendersons Hohwalds Jackson Paddock Van Gorden and many Nearys Alberts Mahoney and Stager children. Games and dancing continued late with Anna Henderson winning first prize and Eva Stager second in the pay party. Refreshments were served.
Bartlett Post G A R led by Howard Verona Brass Band will stage a morning parade and exercises at the perennial to honor fallen brothers. Sneak thieves entered Charles Britton’s Caldwell home on Monday afternoon while he was away. A purse with cash and a family chest holding valuables were stolen. Mrs. Britton slept unaware as the house was ransacked. A similar break in atEase Duryea’s Caldwell home occurred a week earlier with more valuables taken.
Calvin G. Van Gorden of Caldwell and Miss Rose Meiselbach of Newark were married Wednesday morning at Van Gorden’s Caldwell home. Rev. W W Walker officiated with Jessie Campbell as bridesmaid and Alfred Van Gorden as best man. Guests were limited to immediate relatives. The couple left for Old Point Comfort and Richmond after a luncheon and plan to live in Caldwell.

The City Home announces the second issue of The Onward a monthly magazine for home youths. Decoration Day events will be observed with planned exercises and base games on the City Home diamond. The Verona Public Library Book Committee met Thursday and ordered several new works of fiction. The library urges subscriptions to the Set and promotes the growing reference and fiction departments as a credit to the town.
The Verona Orchestra led by Benjamin Howard and including Annette Van Duyne Elsie Jacobus Mary McGill Kate Howard Howard Jacobus Henry Bloomfield George W Campbell and Edward Schraldt holds regular weekly rehearsals and aims to present an entertainment soon for the public.
