Reynolds High School plans a full commencement week ending June 1 with a baccalaureate sermon May 29 at First Baptist Church and a graduation exercise at 8 30 p m June 1 in the school auditorium. Dr Robert A Scharf University of Georgia will deliver the literary address.

Arnall and Rivers End Years of Political Discord

Two former Georgia governors E D Rivers and Ellis Arnall announced in Atlanta on Tuesday that they have buried their differences and are political friends again. They recalled a pre 1946 close partnership and said previous influences caused conflict but they are now united to work constructively for Georgia's general good.

The Butler Methodist Church announces Vacation Bible School begins Monday May 24. Registration starts at 3 p m with classes from 4 to 6 p m daily. Attendees from Butler and neighboring areas urged to enroll and volunteers and teachers are sought.

The Honorable Ellis Gibbs Arnall will deliver the literary address at the May 31 commencement in Forsyth. Dr J P Wesberry preaches the baccalaureate on May 30. Peters Calls Georgia Democratic Committee Meeting

James S. Peters, chairman of the Democratic State Committee, summons the Georgia committee to meet Monday at the Ansley Hotel in Atlanta. They will set rules for the September 8 primary, select delegates to the Democratic National Convention, and fix entry deadlines for governor, U S senator, two Supreme Court and Court of Appeals judges, and two Public Service Commission seats. Instructions for National Convention delegates will be drafted at the session.

Jobs Await Two Hundred Thousand College Graduates

Washington reports more than 200000 college graduates, an all time record, will begin adult careers in the coming weeks. The Education Office and the Bureau of Labor Statistics forecast that well over 200000 will graduate by June, though many may not find ideal jobs due to veteran enrollment.

Rural Mail Carriers to Meet in Georgetown Monday

Georgetown Ga May 21 annual convention and barbecue of the Third District Rural Letter Carriers Association will be held in Georgetown next Monday. Warren Bledsoe Hill Boyett Jr and Bobby House rural carriers in Quitman county are hosts. About 400 or more carriers are expected to attend.

Union Fifth Sunday Service at Methodist Church

Announcement states Fifth Sunday worship will be held at the Methodist church with Sunday School at 10 a.m. and services at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Rev Eugene Daily of the local Baptist church will be speaking at Mercer this weekend, so morning and evening worships are moved to the Methodist church. Dr Carl G Campbell pastor of Vineville Baptist Macon will receive a doctor of divinity degree from Furman University while his daughter Joy Elaine earns a bachelor of arts at the same Furman commencement in Greenville S C on Monday May 31 The Campbell family shares a long Furman connection with the father a 1923 graduate and both he and Joy Elaine active in Baptist circles.

Miss Carol Jane Waller daughter of Mr and Mrs R D Waller of Mauk will receive her A B degree from Mercer University Macon next Monday evening. She completed Butler high school and studied at Mercer. Dr Louie Newton of Atlanta will deliver the Baccalaureate address. Degrees will be awarded by Dr Spright Dowell Mercer president.

Manchester Orchard Unveils Board Protected Peach Shipping

The Manchester fruit farm of Dr. J. A. Johnson and Sons introduces a new packing method for Georgia peaches. Wooden containers with heavy cardboard partitions separate each peach to prevent damage. Peaches may ripen on the tree before picking, unlike standard practice. The Boxer Brand Elbertas, highlighted this year, are offered for order with quotations on price and quantity.

Carrie Murchison Native of Taylor County Dies in Ft Valley

Mrs. Carrie J. Murchison 76 wife of Gus Murchison died at her Ft Valley home after a week of illness. A native of Houston County she is survived by two daughters Mrs J W Aldridge and Mrs Monroe Murchison of Ft Valley one son J C Clark several grandchildren and one brother Homer Moore of Butler.
